
“Twig” range

The origins of this design evolved from a mistake!
I was attempting to solder some silver sheet to form a ring and I accidentally allowed
the torch flame to stray to the edge of the metal. I removed the torch quickly, but
not before the metal started to melt. After much experimenting, both trial and further
error, I managed to control the way the metal melted along the entire edge of a piece
of sheet. I cut this melted edge off and played the very tip of the torch flame along
the cut edge, thereby causing it to melt back into the previously melted bit. By

This technigue is now utilised in a wide variety of designs, and is particularly popular in a simple, solitaire style ring, in either platinum or 18ct gold.
Plain “Twig” rings are also available in silver, 9ct yellow, red or white gold, 18ct yellow, red or white gold or platinum.
